CS134a Course Overview

This first term course is an introduction to operating systems. We will not focus on any particular operating system, but we will be using examples from a number of operating systems like UNIX, Linux, and the various MS operating systems. The purpose of the course is to describe the concepts that underlie all of these operating systems--concepts like processes, virtual memory, I/O, communication, filesystems, scheduling, and security.

During the term, we'll be posting examples of excellent student work on the Pearls page.
